Under GoB’s HNPSP (Health, Nutrition & Population Sector Program) funded by USAID through Pathfinder International, this project ran from 2002-2007. Under this project, PKS delivered ESP (Essential Service Packages) services from fixed static and satellite clinics to the catchment population by trained and skilled medical professionals (Doctors, Paramedic, Nurses, MA, FWV). Initially the delivery centers were branded as ‘Paribarik Shasthya Clinic’ and later on as ‘Surjer Hashi Clinic’. 3 clinics were EmOC types.
During this project period, there were extensive activities on community & social mobilization to ensure increased health seeking behavior and HH&N (Health, Hygiene & Nutrition) practices by the targeted clients. The project had also taken extensive capacity building programs for clinical and non-clinical service providers on clinical, financial and programmatic aspects. The focus of the project was to increase service delivery and its utilization by the targeted customer/clients of the defined community.
The NSDP project also aimed at providing health service to the poor and ultra-poor people at affordable prices and free of cost.
PKS is a regional based independent, nonpartisan, non-profit voluntary organization
