PKS PARIBAR KALLAYAN SAMITY, JASHORE

"WE SEEK YOUR SUPPORT TO ENSURE AND ESTABLISH EQUALITY & EQUITY FOR THE DISADVANTAGED, DESTITUTE AND THE MARGINALIZED"

PKS (Paribar Kallayan Samity), an organization of huge experience in community & facility based clinical Essential Service Delivery implementation-

PKS possesses significant experience and expertise in delivering health services to individuals, regardless of age, sex, caste, race, religion, creed, or economic status. From 1997 until June 2018, PKS provided Essential Service Packages (ESP) under various initiatives, including the Urban Family Health Partnership (UFHP), NGO-Service Delivery Project (NSDP), Smiling Sun Franchise Project (SSFP), NGO Health Service Delivery Project (NHSDP), and Advancing Universal Health Coverage (AUHC), all funded by USAID. This was achieved through the operation of 26 static clinics and 82 satellite clinics across eight districts in the Khulna division, supported by a workforce of 380 trained clinical and non-clinical staff. Each clinic offers comprehensive ESP, which encompasses five critical components: Reproductive Health, Child Health, Behavior Change Communication (BCC), Prevention and treatment of communicable diseases, and Limited curative care. The organization is especially dedicated to serving low-income and marginalized groups, providing services either at affordable rates or free of charge.

Initially branded as ‘Paribarik Shasthya Clinic’ and subsequently as ‘Surjer Hasi Clinic,’ PKS prioritizes community engagement, recognizing it as fundamental to its operations. The primary stakeholders include pregnant women, adolescents and youth, eligible couples, women of reproductive age, transient populations, and the poor and ultra-poor. The majority of initiatives are crafted to raise awareness regarding health, hygiene, and nutrition, thereby promoting the utilization of services from both governmental and non-governmental service delivery points.

To facilitate these efforts, PKS establishes various community groups, including Leaders of Influence, Religious Groups, Community Support Groups, Adolescent and Youth Clubs, Mothers’ Support Groups, and Satellite Clinic Support Groups. These groups are oriented and empowered through a variety of educational methods, which include courtyard sessions, flip charts, leaflets, cultural dramas, video clips, and session guides. This approach enables the organization to serve as advocates and link the community with diverse service providers, thereby contributing to the sustainability of these activities. In addition, a range of informational materials, such as brochures, leaflets, banners, flip charts, and flash cards, are distributed to ensure continued engagement with health practices.
