NGO-Service Delivery Project (NSDP) Under GoB’s HNPSP (Health, Nutrition & Population Sector Program) funded by USAID through Pathfinder International, this project ran from 2002-2007. Under this project, PKS delivered ESP (Essential Service Packages) services from fixed static and satellite clinics to the catchment population by trained and skilled medical professionals (Doctors, Paramedic, Nurses, MA, FWV). Initially the delivery centers were branded as ‘Paribarik Shasthya Clinic’ and later on as ‘Surjer Hashi Clinic’. 3 clinics were EmOC types. The focus of the project was to increase service delivery and its utilization by the targeted customer/clients of the defined community. The NSDP project also aimed at providing health service to the poor and ultra-poor people at affordable prices and free of cost. Smiling Sun Franchise Project (SSFP)
Smiling Sun Franchise Project (SSFP) Under GoB’s HNPSP (Health, Nutrition & Population Sector Program) funded by USAID through Chemonics International, this project was continued from 2008-2011. Under this project, PKS delivered ESP (Essential Service Packages) services from fixed static clinics and satellite clinics to the catchment population by trained and skilled medical professionals (Doctors, Paramedic, Nurses, MA, FWV). The delivery centers were branded as ‘Surjer Hashi Clinic’. In 2010 the number of Static Clinics raised to 26 from 17 (these 9 clinics were included in PKS from Fair Foundation as per donor’s decision). From this time onward, total fixed Centers & Satellite clinic of PKS became 26 and 82 in number respectively. Among these facilities, four were EmOC (Emergency Obstetric Care) clinics.During this project period, there were extensive renovation of the Static Clinics. Advancing Universal Health Coverage (AUHC) After GoB,s HPNSDP (Health, Population & Nutrition, Sector Development Program) AUHC took over the program funded by USAID through Chemonics International from 2017-2018). Under this project, PKS delivered ESP (Essential Service Packages) services from fixed static clinics and satellite clinics to the catchment population by trained and skilled medical professionals (Doctors, Paramedic, Nurses, MA, FWV). During this period, the delivery centers were branded as ‘Surjer Hashi Clinic’. Total fixed Centers & Satellite clinic were 26 and 82. Among these facilities 4 were EmOC clinics. This project focus on service delivery and increased cost recovery simultaneously for better sustainability. Urban Family Health Partnership (UFHP)
Urban Family Health Partnership (UFHP) COP of UFHP with other delegates This project was under GoB’s HPSP (Health & Population Sector Program) and funded by USAID through JSI from 1997-2002. This was the first sector wise program of GoB aimed at MCH (Maternal & Child Health) based Health and Family Planning care services to address Maternal and Child mortality. Under this project, PKS provided Reproductive, Child Health and Family Planing services from the fixed static and satellite clinics to the catchment population by trained and skilled medical professionals (Doctors, Paramedic, Nurses, MA, FWV). Fixed delivery centers were branded as ‘Paribarik Shasthya Clinic’. Total Number of fixed Service delivery outlets were 05 and satellites were 20 in number. This program took extensive Community Mobilization and BCC (Behavior Change & Communication) activities to raise awareness in the catchment population about the type of services and to promote its uptake and utilization from Static and Satellite clinics. NGO-Health Service Delivery Project (NHSDP) Social Mapping With a view to accelerating progress of the health, population and nutrition (HPN) sector and addressing the challenges, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOH & FW), Government of Bangladesh (GOB) has been implementing the Health Population and Nutrition Sector Development Program (HPNSDP) for a period of five years from July 2011 to June 2016. After HPSP (1998-2003) and HNPSP (2003-2011), the HPNSDP is the third sector-wide program for overall improvement of health, population and nutrition sub-sectors. The priority of the program is to stimulate demand and improve access to and utilization of HPN services in order to reduce morbidity and mortality; reduce population growth rate and improve nutritional status, especially of women and children. Under GoB’s HPNSDP (Health, Population and Nutrition, Sector Development Program) USAID and DFID funded this project (from July 2011-June 2016) for the partner NGOs.
